Thanks again to everyone who helped contribute to another successful Trees for Troops distribution.

Fort Bliss proudly serves over 33,000 Active Duty Service Members that stay "Ready First". This year with an amazing team of volunteers and MWR staff, we were able to distribute 303 trees to some very deserving military families with priority going to our families with deployed Soldiers and Wounded Warriors.

We received overwhelming positive feedback from all that received trees. We truly were able to spread some Christmas cheer!

We hope to see you again next year!

Our family would like to say thank you so much for this special blessing to Marilyn Vandever. This Christmas will be a bitter sweet one, because I am deploying within days after Christmas, however this tree has made it very special because we have never had a real tree. It is so perfect, and the kids (5 of them) really enjoyed decorating it.

Thanks for the great memory!

Merry Christmas!!

Thank you so much for the beautiful tree! For the past three years my husband has been deployed during the holidays. He's an EOD tech on the little creek base here in Virginia. He loves when I send him pictures of the tree every year. He knows how much I love the holidays and he says it reassures him that I'm staying happy. With my husband away and my friends and family in Oregon and Georgia this tree keeps me in a very cheerful Christmas spirit.

Thank you from the Fordham family!!!

Good Evening! I wanted to take the time to say, "Thank You" for our beautiful tree that we received today at Fort Riley, KS.  Because of you and your sponsors’ generosity my children were very excited. Tonight as my children and I decorated the tree and sang Christmas Carols we made another beautiful memory to add to the Christmas Book. I haven't seen them smile so much and as big as they did tonight, for that I thank you and it truly means the world to me.  Hope you and your family are able to make memories like mine did this Holiday Season!

Merry Christmas and many Blessings,

I just put up our tree donated by the Reeder family. It looks beautiful.

This was a rough year for my family. We lost some loved ones and between travel and trying to help everyone we could, at one point we thought we weren't going to be able to celebrate the holidays this year. Throw on top of that I just received notice that I'll be deploying again right after the New Year and my wife was not as excited as usual.

I didn't tell her that we might be able to get a tree as sometimes they run out.   I was so excited to be able to bring home a tree to her. The moment she saw it her eyes lit up and she started to cry. We aren't going to have many gifts this year, but having a beautiful tree in the living room was enough to help us both bring back memories of Christmases past and the love and sharing that we miss from our families back home and those that aren't with us to celebrate anymore.

I'm getting teary just thinking about how happy she is and thinking about how special this Christmas is to both of us.

Thank you so much!

Thank you to everyone that made getting a tree possible. My wife and I were not putting a tree up this year because the family would not be here and we just retired a few months ago. Living on a smaller income doesn't help in this economy. The tree is beautiful and it puts a warmer glow in our home knowing people out there care so much about those defending our freedom.

Merry Christmas from our house to all of yours.

This year was set to be a rough Christmas for our family. On top of the standard burdens that military families have, we had an expensive car repair to make and were facing the possibility of Christmas without a tree. A co-worker of mine, who is also a military spouse pointed me toward your program. That afternoon I was at the Adventure Center on JBLM getting a tree that was made possible by your generosity.  Words cannot express what having a tree means to our family. Thank you so much for giving so generously and ensuring our 4 year old has a tree to unwrap presents by.

With love and gratitude,
The Durden Family

I am US Airman at Scott Air Force Base. I just wanted to thank you so much for donating the trees to our base. Ever since I was little, it has been a tradition that we go cut a tree down. This has been no exception for the past 5 years with my husband either. Now that I have joined the Military (1 and 1/2 years in) money has become tight.  This year we moved we moved to a new state, and my husband was not able to find a job. As December rolled around I was becoming more concerned about getting a tree, and was trying to convince myself that we could do without this year. Then the base came out with the announcement about Trees for Troops. I had never heard of this program and was completely amazed it existed. It warmed my heart.  I am truly grateful for all the people who have donated so that we could enjoy Christmas just the same as the years before.

A special thanks goes out to Jack and Jan Petersen's Tree Farm, for it is their tree we have received.

Thank you so much!

I just wanted to say thank you from Gunny Jason Vlasaty’s family for the beautiful tree donated by the Polimeno Family.  We are a proud Marine family and we thank everyone that supports not only the Marines but every branch of the military both male and female. With kindness and generosity likes yours it is just another reason why the military does what it does, because people really do care and appreciate the sacrifices.

Subject: Trees For Troops Thank You!

Hi there, my name is Kristina. My family and I are stationed at and live on Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state. Today, we were lucky enough to receive a tree from the Trees for Troops program. It is such a blessing! My husband was deployed last Christmas and I chose not to get a tree then because of the extra work it would take, especially with having two small children to look after by myself. So, to actually to have one this year is incredible. And it wouldn't be possible without this program and the foundation that supports it! I am sure that you don't grow the trees yourself there, they probably come from a local tree farm. Of course I am thankful for this foundation but I would love to be able to send a thank you card to the actual place our tree came from. I don't know if you even know where they come from or where they go to once cut but if you are able to tell me, I would appreciate it. I want to send in that thank you, a picture of my family around it on Christmas morning, to show them how happy it has made my family!

So, if you are able to, here's the info:
We received the tree the morning of Wednesday, December 4th, 2013 at the Northwest Adventure Center located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA 98433.

I really hope you can help me with this!
