On April 11, 2012, Trees for Troops was recognized at the White House on the 1-year Anniversary of the Joining Forces initiative started by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden. Trees for Troops was one of twenty organizations recognized as finalists in the Joining Forces Community Challenge. In its inaugural year, the Challenge aimed to recognize organizations who provide service and support to military families. CSF Chairman Nigel Manley and Assistant Director Amy Mills represented Trees for Troops at the celebration event at the White House.
WE DID IT!
100,000TH Tree Delivered to Camp Pendleton!
The 100,000th tree was given to the Felix family, Sgts. Jonathan and Jessica Felix and their two children, at Camp Pendleton on December 9th. This Christmas tree is even more special as the entire family will be home together for Christmas after alternating deployments.
THANK YOU for helping us donate over 100,000 Christmas trees to military families since 2005! We are still tallying our final numbers but we are well above 100,000 trees!
We couldn't have done it without the help of FedEx, our growers, farms and lots , consumers everywhere who made donations to the program and all the volunteers!
