Dear Tree's for Troops,
We appreciate your kidness during the holiday while my husband is currently deployed. We have 4 kids who were overjoyed to get a tree from your organization this week. It was our first time putting it up without dad. I think it fell over 3 times, only one strand of lights worked and I am sure our effort to give it a fresh cut with a dry wall saw was pretty entertaining to watch. These were all things that made us laugh and realize just how much we rely on our missing family member. We finally got the tree up and it is GORGEOUS! Thank you for giving us a fond memory to treasure for years to come!

I'm sending this THANK YOU in honor of my dad, who was a veteran and passed away last year and in honor of my husband. He too is a veteran and I donate in his honor every year to a military charity. As a family, we say THANK YOU for all you've done and continue to do for our country. We keep you in our prayers nightly. God's Blessings, Karen, Scott, Marlie and Ashlyn

Hi Troops,
Merry Christmas! Thank you for all that you do to serve our country. I am 12 years old and my dad is in the Military. He has been in it for 23 years, so i know what it is like to have your loved one sent out to war, and worry about them everyday. You worry that they aren't going to come home, but they do! I just wanted to say thanks to all the troops for all that they do. I know now the true meaning of Christmas. My dad got a tree this year from "trees for troops" and i just wanted to say thank you for the tree! it means alot in our family! when me and my 10 year old brother saw it we were so excited. Thanks for everything that you guys do and i wont ever forget you! you guys are in my heart forever!I hope to get a tree from"trees for troops again next chrismas. THANKS AGAIN!!!!
Lots of love,
The Travis Family!

THIS IS A TRIBUTE TO MY SON IN LAW AND EVERY MAN AND WOMAN BRAVE ENOUGHT TO BE FIGHTING FOR MY FREEDOM GOD BLESS AND BE SAFE You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water.
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends. He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket. He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you. He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He doesn't get to eat today.
Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes. He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over. He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.
You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him. He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.
You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the broken bodies lying around him.
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does exactly what he is told.
You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.
You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable. He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.
You sit there and judge him, saying the world is probably a worse place because of men like him. If only there were more men like him.
god bless you all merry Christmas

To all my female warriors in any branch of service, I want u to know not a day goes by that I don't think about every single one of you. After my second tour with the marines I realized the equality in all of us except that for woman, especially mothers how hard it is not to see your babies at this time of the year. I know some may not agree but when your a mother making this sacrifice ur not just serving it country you are making the ultimate sacrifice as a mother by fighting to make sure the babies you arrested longing for continue to be able to celebrate God freely by fighting those who seek to threaten that freedom. And although I am homeeless...at least I'm home..so thank you for fighting with me alongside me and for me. You are the best!

I don't even know what to say. Just to have you brave men and women reading my message is an honor. I have all the respect in the world for you. You are all my idols. I am not nor will I ever be as brave as you. But because of you many of us will get to live to fulfill our dreams. You are all an inspiration. I wish I could give each and every one of you a hug. I wish you all to be safe and cannot thank you enough for what you're doing. We are all proud of you. God bless.

Thank you for fighting for my freedom and that I can enjoy a peaceful Christmas season. All I have to fight is the lines at the mall or WalMart and the freeway to work and back. Its nothing compared to what you all have to put up with!
Everyday when I put on my Dad's DFC lapel pin I do it in his honor and think of all "my" soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen and women keeping me free. THANK YOU! and Merry Christmas. God Bless you and your families. I pray that God will place a hedge of protection around you all!

Thank you for all you do in serving our great country! Your commitment and service is greatly appreciated!
In addition to Toys for Tots, the staff of my office got together and sponsored two Trees for Troops. We dropped off our check and two Christmas cards on December 4th at Peacock Road Tree Farm in Laingsburg (my home town). I am told the trees left the next day for Fort Sill!! Merry Christmas to the military families there!!
