Celebrate Earth Day by Donating a Farm-grown Christmas Tree to a Military Family!

Trees for Troops is celebrating Earth Day by kicking off the One Thousand Tree Campaign for the 2015 season. You can now purchase a farm-grown Christmas tree that will be harvested in late November and donated to a military family this December during the 2015 Trees for Troops program.

The One Thousand Tree Campaign allows us to send more Christmas trees to military families that request them. Each year, we have some requests that we are not able to meet because we don’t have enough trees donated. Your donation to the One Thousand Tree Campaign will help us bridge that gap and deliver more trees to military families that are spending holidays separated from loved ones.

Over 18,000 Trees Donated to Military Families in 2014!

2014 Season
This year, Trees for Troops® provided 18,032 free, real Christmas Trees to military families and troops, bringing our total since the inception of the program to more than 157,000 trees. This year's trees were delivered by FedEx to 63 military bases in the U.S. and overseas, covering every branch of the armed services.

We are receiving tons of thank you notes, emails and photos from those who received trees, and we feel blessed to have be part of creating a memorable Christmas for so many troops and military families. Check out some of the photos and thank you messages on this website and our Facebook page.

This year's program kicked off in a big way November 18 at Dull's Tree Farm in Thorntown, Indiana. The event was filled with excitement as more than 50 volunteers helped organize, box and load 175 trees that were shipped overseas. Trees were donated by members of the Indiana Christmas Tree Association, and shipping was donated by FedEx. The lucky recipients of these trees were USO Fenty in Afghanistan, Naval Base Guam and Andersen Air Field in Guam.

Members of the National Christmas Tree Association and many state and regional Christmas tree associations began donating trees by the thousands. This is quite a logistical undertaking and a sacrifice, as these are quality, sell-able trees being harvested, donated and collected during the busiest possible time for growers, and no doubt the busiest time for FedEx and its employees. They do it because they love the opportunity to say "thank you for your service and sacrifice" to troops and their families. In total, 11,341 Christmas trees were donated by growers this year. Consumers supported Trees for Troops by donating funds or by visiting the 30 farms and retail locations across the country that hosted FedEx trailers during Trees for Troops Weekend, Dec. 5-7, 2014 During Trees for Troops Weekend, consumers purchased and donated 6,406 trees that were placed in the trailers and delivered to U.S. military bases.

Deliveries to stateside military bases all over the country started in late November and ended in mid-December with a grand total of 18,032 trees, provided through the generosity of the Real Christmas Tree industry, consumers and FedEx.
